ULTRATUBE non-destructive ultrasonic testing system commissioned at Uraltrubprom
The non-destructive ultrasonic testing system for medium-diameter ERW pipes ULTRATUBE has been commissioned at OAO Ural Pipe Plant (Uraltrubprom, Pervouralsk) by specialists of ULTRAKRAFT JSC.

The system is designed to detect laminations, longitudinal and transverse defects and to measure the wall thickness of high-frequency welded (HFW) pipes under production conditions in the longitudinally welded ERW pipe shop.

The automated system is integrated into the ERW pipe production process and allows testing the quality of pipes with a diameter of up to 630 mm and a wall thickness of up to 22 mm.

The pipe metal quality testing is performed in accordance with the requirements of the standards ISO 11960:2001 ("Petroleum and natural gas industries – Steel pipes for use as casing or tubing for wells"), API 5L specification ("Specification for Line Pipe"), API 5CT specification ("Specification for Casing and Tubing"), GOST R 52079-2003 "Welded steel pipes for trunk gas pipelines, oil pipelines and oil product pipelines", GOST R 53366-2009 "Steel pipes for use as casing or tubing for wells in the oil and gas industry", ISO 11960 2004 "Steel pipes for use as casing or tubing for wells", ISO 3183 "Steel pipe for pipeline transportation systems"; DNV-OS-F101 "Submarine pipeline systems".
